The body of a former Pittsburgh firefighter was found in a West Virginia national park Tuesday morning, days after his family last heard from him.
Searchers found George Gross, 56, of Pittsburgh along a trail around 9:45 a.m. in the Diamond Point area of New River Gorge National River, the National Park Service reported.
His truck was found Monday night at the trailhead, the service said. He told his family Friday afternoon that he was going to go hiking in the park.
