Burglary suspects caught after neighbor's tip, chase

NEW SEWICKLEY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — New Sewickley police say an alert resident caught two men breaking in to her neighbor’s house.

The chief showed only Channel 11 pictures of the crime scene.

She even told police about the getaway car.

Officers allowed only Channel 11 to take pictures as they processed the silver Jeep. With lights blaring, it took 15 minutes and a chase through three different municipalities before police caught up with Anthony Martinez and Joe Davias.

While doing 45 mph along winding country roads, police say the suspects started throwing all kinds of evidence out of the vehicle.

Once the pair was pulled over and arrested, officers show us what they found along the road and in the car: jewelry and drugs.

Police credit the woman who called 911 for getting involved.

“She did an outstanding job of keeping us informed of what was going on, minute by minute, of what happened at the scene,” Lindecker said.
