Severe Weather Team 11 tracking potential snow showers

Colder air and strong, gusty winds are turning rain showers into scattered snow flurries Sunday.

Very little to no accumulation is expected in the immediate Pittsburgh region, but some locations in the Lake Erie snow belt and on the highest ridges east could see an inch or two of snow.

Watch Channel 11 Morning News for the latest forecast for snowfall in your area, on 11 @ 11.

A flood advisory is in effect for Beaver, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango and Butler counties until 9:45 a.m. A wind advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. for the ridges east and south of Pittsburgh, and winds will be strong across the region

Falling leaves could clog drains, so watch for ponding on roads. The heaviest rain fell after sunset Sunday, with many areas picking up as much as two inches of rain.

On Sunday cold air will push temperatures down to near-freezing as the evening nears, and scattered snow showers are expected.

This is a very complex system, so keep checking with Severe Weather Team 11 for updates.
