A month later, it's an understatement to say she's a bundle of joy.

"She’s doing wonderfully. She’s listening. She loves people," said Margie Seelbaugh of the Humane Society.

The story has touched a lot of hearts, especially the New Castle police officer who saved Miranda.

The public defender for Dukes wouldn't let his client talk, only telling Channel 11 he's glad the dog is alive.

"I'm glad she's alive too but we need justice for her," Seelbaugh.
