Woman pleads guilty, receives prison sentence in shooting death of husband

McKEESPORT, Pa. — A McKeesport woman pleaded guilty Monday to shooting and killing her husband, who had obtained a restraining order against her, in May 2015.

Police said Patricia Katchur, 66, returned to the couple’s Orchard Street home after a previous argument. She removed an air conditioner from a window to get inside, where she fell asleep.

When Patricia Katchur’s husband, Christopher Katchur, came home, he woke her up and told her to leave, police said. He was shot by his wife as they walked onto the home’s front porch.

Patricia Katchur pleaded guilty Monday to one count of third-degree murder. She was then sentenced to 15 to 30 years in prison.

“She has time to think about what she has done,” a witness to the murder, who did not want to be identified, told Channel 11 News. “Put this behind us and return this street to the quiet neighborhood it was.”
