Added security for Friday's Frazier, Beth-Center football game amid threat investigation

FREDERICKSTOWN, Pa. — Increased security measures will be in place for Friday night’s high school football game between Frazier and Beth-Center following an alleged threat.

A letter sent home Thursday to parents in the Beth-Center School District said those attending the game will be wanded and searched, and that purses and backpacks will be prohibited.

The district’s letter also stated that, as with other home athletic events, all children under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Police continue to investigate an incident earlier this week at Frazier Middle School in which a student allegedly threatened to bring a gun to the school.

However, Superintendent Bill Henderson tells Channel 11’s Aaron Martin that the increased security is from a separate unsubstantiated threat allegedly made on Facebook.

Henderson says the threat was specifically about the football game.

Henderson says there's no evidence this threat actually existed and they couldn't find it on Facebook.

He said the added security is just a precaution.
