Dream Big Studio grand opening at UPMC Children’s Hospital

Lights, camera, action!

UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh transformed part of the hospital to a state-of-the art broadcast set Thursday with the grand opening of “Dream Big Studio.”

The studio was created for patients to develop broadcast skills by creating their very own content and escape from harder times.

And for those who can’t leave their rooms, the programs will be shown throughout the hospital on televisions or patients can join in on the shows by phoning in.

Dream Big Studio was funded entirely by the philanthropy of the Rossin Foundation.

Mac Miller’s “Circles” released

The wait is finally over!

Mac Miller’s posthumous album, “Circles" is now available everywhere.

Pittsburgh is one of three cities hosting a pop-up listening party Saturday and Sunday on the Northside.

To attend, fans were asked to fill out a form that included an explanation of what the late rapper and his music meant to them

In addition to the listening party, multimedia fan art and “Circles” merchandise will be sold and proceeds will go toward the Mac Miller Fund.

Miller’s family took to his Instagram last week to announce the upcoming album in conjunction with his previous album, “Swimming,” which was released just before he died in 2018.

Meet Nessie

The Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium has added another member to its family.

Meet Nessie, a rescued northern elephant seal.

Zoo officials say she was rescued, rehabbed and released five times, and the Pittsburgh Zoo quickly welcomed her to the family as it’s the only facility to care for northern elephant seal.

New piano bar hits Pittsburgh

A new piano bar is popping up in Pittsburgh this weekend.

The Big Bang at Sing Sing opens Friday in the Waterfront and will feature high-energy piano shows based on audience requests.

The bar will be open Thursday through Saturday nights, starting at 7:30 p.m.
