Want the 411 on the 412? “Access Pittsburgh” has you covered with top stories!
What’s reopening in Pennsylvania:
Summer can officially begin now!
This week, not only did Kennywood give us a sneak peek at the new Old Mill, which used to be Garfield’s Nightmare, but they also announced that Kennywood Park, Sandcastle Waterpark and Idlewild & SoakZone will reopen after being unable to because of COVID-19.
On July 11, the three parks will open to the general public following enhanced safety measures and other guidelines to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
And if amusement parks aren’t for you, more places in our area are planning their reopening with new guidelines in place.
Get more information on Kennywood’s reopening here and check out our full list of big openings and what you need to know here.
The Pittsburgh Zoo adds to the family:
The Pittsburgh Zoo is roaring with excitement as it welcomed some new members to its family this week.
The pride added a 2-year-old male and two 2-year-old female African lions to its exhibit.
For the time being, the lions are spending time in the Animal Care Center so they can adjust to their new home environment and become acquainted with the animal care specialists.
Click here for photos of the African lions, and keep an eye out for them at the zoo.
Children’s Museum Virtual Gala:
Although things are beginning to open back up, virtual experiences are still exciting so you can enjoy them in the comfort of your own home.
The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is hosting a star-studded gala -- and they’re taking it virtual!
The Great Night in Family Gala will stream online Sunday at 6:30 p.m. to celebrate the arts and will feature celebrities, performers, artists and more.

Titan Games:
NBC’s hit athletic competition series “The Titan Games” returned for its second season in May, and the competition is getting fierce each week.
Hosted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, men and women from across the country go head-to-head in some unreal battles.
This week, “See and Be Seen” talked to one of the most intense contenders from the show yet, Jessie Graff, who is a stuntwoman, top competitor from NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior” and now a potential titan.
Graff isn’t the only one to watch out for though!
In Monday’s episode two brothers from Stoneboro, PA are set to take their sibling rivalry to the Titan Games -- Eric Palicia (Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Engineer Core) and Noah Palicia (Captain in the United States Air Force).
The two are no strangers to a good competition. Keep your eyes peeled for a first look with the Palicia brothers later this weekend and cheer them on Monday night on an all-new “Titan Games" West Region premiere at 8 p.m. on Channel 11.
