Popular musical 'Grease' being performed at The Lamp Theatre in Irwin

IRWIN, Pa. — Popular musical "Grease" has landed on the Lamp Theatre stage in Irwin.

"Grease" began its two weekend run last Friday and continues this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The musical is being performed by mostly high school graduates who are embracing the show about teenagers set in the 1950s.

When WPXI attended the show on Friday, the famous John Travolta character, Danny Zuko, was played by Anthony Massetto.  Massetto is one of two actors who plays Zuko.

Zuko’s love interest, Sandy, is played by Kaylie Wallace. Wallace plans to pursue her theater talents at the University of Michigan this coming fall while Massetto is a music performance major at Saint Vincent College.

The show is directed by Larry F. Cervi. The veteran director’s career spans more than two decades of training actors in performing arts. A year ago, Cervi was at The Lamp Theatre directing “Footloose.”
