The bar pays homage to the 50th anniversary of the George Romero film, "Night of the Living Dead," which is rumored to have been filmed in the basement of the Oyster House.

"We are all really excited about the bar opening. We've been planning it since July," said organizer Mike McCoy, who owns and operates restaurants in Pittsburgh. "Doing our research, we found there's less than a handful of zombie bars across the nation."

To make it happen, McCoy partnered with fellow food and drink expert Brian Laing, the Oyster House, the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and the ScareHouse.

“Occasionally we will have zombies come into the warehouse,” which will trigger flashing lights and sirens, McCoy said. "It’s an interactive, fun experience."
