St. John the Baptist summer festival boasts new look, new attractions

From games and prizes for all ages, to live entertainment and a variety of food, the St. John the Baptist Family Festival is boasting new attractions while keeping old favorites.

The festival takes place July 12- July 15 at St. John the Baptist Parish, 444 St. John Street, Plum Borough, Pennsylvania,15239.

Organizers said the first thing returning visitors will notice is the new layout of the grounds to improve the festival experience. It will feature a new Festival Food Court including pizza and hand-cut fries. Wine and beer will be available.

There will also will be new rides, and Wonder Woman and Batman will make an appearance on Friday from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Kicking off the final night will be a 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday with polka music featuring Polka Music Hall of Fame inductee 2015 Randy Koslosky and his band, the Kosmix.

Many popular annual attractions will be returning like the grand raffle, bingo, bake sale, Kiddieland, fresh lemonade, funnel cakes, basket auctions, a “New To You” sales, nightly themed dinners, live entertainment each night and more.

  • July 12, 7 p.m.-10 p.m., Lasagna Night (Food is available starting at 6 p.m.)
  • July 13, 7 p.m.-10 p.m.,  Meat Loaf Texas Style (Food is available starting at 6 p.m.
  • July 14, 7 p.m.-10:30 p.m., St. Johns Famous Fish (Food is available starting at 6 p.m.)
  • July 15. 5 p.m.-10:30 p.m., Wrapped Cabbages/Polish Night (Food is available starting at 5 p.m.)
