LADSON, SOUTH CAROLINA — A gun battle between a 13-year-old and a pair of burglars ends with one dead.
Police in Ladson, South Carolina, say the boy was home alone and heard someone trying to break into the back door of his home.

He went and got his mother's gun, and shot through the door.
The 31-year-old burglar fired back with his own weapon before taking a bullet.
His 28-year-old accomplice rushed him to the hospital where he died.
The younger burglar has been charged as the police continue their investigation.
