MUNHALL, Pa.,None — Two of at least seven men facing charges after police said they had sex with a 15-year-old appeared in court on Wednesday.
According to investigators, Jesse Takos, 21, and Shane O'Connor, 21, met the underage girl on Facebook. Takos, O'Connor and at least five other men are accused of having sex with the girl inside the basement of her Munhall home over a several-month period, police said. However, defense attorneys said not all of them knew the girl was only 15.
The men each face involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, corruption of minors and indecent assault charges.
Investigators said O'Connor arranged the sex dates with several of the men through the social networking website.
The girl told the judge on Wednesday that "Shane would text me and tell me who he was bringing. Shane texted me and asked how old I was. I said I was 15."
Allegheny County police testified that they found videos of sex acts on O'Connor's cellphone, but they didn't involve the underage girl.
Police said the girl and the men both claim that the sex was consensual, but under Pennsylvania law, it is still considered a crime. A judge held the cases against O'Connor and Takos for trial. Channel 11's Renee Kaminski reported that if the defendants are convicted of having oral sex with the girl, the could serve a mandatory sentence of 10 years in prison.
