2 Convicted Of Murder In Mount Oliver Woman's Death

PITTSBURGH,None — Two Mount Oliver men were convicted in the death of a woman whose body was found wrapped in a carpet in Wilkinsburg park last year.

Channel 11 News partner TribLive reported that Kristopher Benjamin, 31, was convicted Wednesday of first-degree murder. An Allegheny County jury also found Timothy Brunner, 28, guilty of second-degree murder.

They were accused in the July 12 killing of Amy Kucsmas, 36, of Mount Oliver. Police said Kucsmas was beaten after the men accused her of stealing $200.

Police said Kucsmas had been dead for several days before her body was discovered a few feet off a well-traveled path at Hunter's Field park.

Benjamin and Brunner, who also were convicted of kidnapping, abuse of a corpse and conspiracy, face mandatory life terms without parole. They will be sentenced at a later date.
