2 teens charged with robbing White Oak convenience store at gunpoint

Two teens are charged with robbing a White Oak convenience store at gunpoint early Saturday.

Kanasia Gaskins, 18, of White Oak, and Michael A. Porter III, 19, of Duquesne, are charged.

According to court dockets, Gaskins is charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy, recklessly endangering another person and resisting arrest. Porter is charged with robbery and criminal conspiracy.

Police officers went to the White Oak Mini Mart on Lincoln Way just before 7 a.m. after receiving a report of an armed robbery in progress, the White Oak Police Department said.

Police said a masked person armed with a gun was behind the counter with the clerk. When police arrived, the robber ran out of the store. Police caught the suspect and recovered a gun, cash and mask.

Both suspects were taken to the Allegheny County Jail pending arraignment.
