SHARON, Pa. — A 23-year-old was killed late Friday night in an officer-involved shooting after police responded to a domestic assault in Sharon, Mercer County, Pennsylvania State Police said.
The domestic assault was reported at a home on Tamplin Street, police said. A Sharon police officer went to the residence and 23-year-old Sean Hake was fatally shot shortly before midnight.
State police did not say what started the domestic dispute, only that Hake's mother was the one who called 911.
"We're not going to disclose any evidence about that portion of the case at this point. I can tell you we processed the scene and are conducting more interviews to finish up this investigation," Pennsylvania state police Lt. Erick Hermick said.
The officer who fired the shot is on paid leave, which is standard procedure.
The incident remains under investigation.
