Police arrested four suspects and are searching for a fifth person in connection with an armed robbery at an Ambridge convenience store.

Robert Vajaklya is believed to be a masked man who was threatening the clerk with a large knife at CoGo’s on Duss Avenue on Jan. 8.

Surveillance video shows two masked people, one armed with a knife, rushing into the store. Officials said the man with the knife threatened three employees, demanded that they get on the floor with their hands behind their backs and then took everything out of the cash register.

A third masked suspect entered through the back to get to the safe.

Police said Brandon Bernard and Monaca McCutcheon are believed to be the other two people wearing masks inside the store.

“We’ve been working this case, but thank goodness for the help. With Channel 11 putting out that video and Beaver County Crime Solvers, we got the information to make these arrests,” said Ambridge police Lt. Brian Jameson.

Police said the accused getaway driver, Regene Gilbert, played a crucial part in the robbery because he used to work at the store just months before the crime.

“He knew the layout, where the safe was, how not to trigger the silent alarm,” Jameson said.

Anyone with information about Vajaklya’s whereabouts is asked to call police.
