MOUNT OLIVER, Pa. — This Sunday will be bittersweet for Amanda McKnight. Her son, C.J. Conrad, who she almost lost late last year, will celebrate his 17th birthday, but the day will also mark six months since the shooting that ended the life of her 11-year-old son David McIntyre.
“I said, ‘What do you want for your birthday?’ and he said, ‘I want David back.’ Realistically, I wish I could do that, but I can't,” McKnight said.
Every month since the November shooting when a still-unidentified gunman opened fire on David and C.J. from the doorway of the family’s Mt. Oliver home, McKnight has gathered loved ones to remember and call for answers.%

“It shocks me (that no one has come forward with information), but then it doesn't shock me at all at the same time,” she said.
Despite a $2,000 reward for information on the shooter, the case remains unsolved.
While she waits for news of an arrest, McKnight said she’s holding dear the items her young son loved in life and keeping faith that someone will step forward.
When asked if she thought six months later there would be no arrest, McKnight said no.
“I was hoping this would be - especially him being young and people speaking high of him - that somebody would have ratted out who’s done it by now,” she said.
