CANTON TOWNSHIP, Pa.,None — A worker was killed after being pinned under equipment in Washington County Tuesday morning.
Channel 11 News has learned the accident happened at Brookman Iron and Metals in Canton Township.
The Washington County coroner identified the victim as 75-year-old William Earl Brookman of Washington, the owner of the scrap yard.
The coroner said Brookman was cutting a steel bucket with a torch when a piece of the metal bucket came down and crushed him.
State troopers from the Washington, Pa., barracks are investigating along with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which is routine in workplace fatalities.
The coroner says Brookman died of trauma injuries and says the manner of death was accidental.
