PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AIR RESERVE STATION, Pa. — Approximately one-third of the 911th Airlift Wing’s operations personnel were deployed Friday morning out of Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station.

Many of the officers’ friends and family made it to the base to send off their loved ones. Over 100 troops spent the past six months training and preparing for Friday’s deployment.
This Air Force unit will provide support to the U.S. Central Command area of operations in Southwest Asia. They are expected to deliver supplies and equipment to various locations in the Middle East region.
