Amwell Township Woman Stabbed Boyfriend, Police Say

WASHINGTON, Pa.,None — An Amwell Township woman was charged Thursday after police said she stabbed her boyfriend in the back during a confrontation at their home last month.

Alyssa Smith, 19, is accused of stabbing David Bolen, 27, on May 28 inside their Lone Pine Road apartment. The two got into an argument about noon that day, police said. During the confrontation, Smith picked up a knife and stabbed Bolen in his back, police said.

Police said Bolen ran from the apartment and stopped a passer-by outside as Smith fled the apartment.

Two neighbors assisted Bolen and took him to his mother's house in Washington. The mother then took him to Washington Hospital for treatment.

Police weren't notified until several hours after the assault. Bolen told police that Smith stabbed him during an argument, but he did not report it because he didn't want her to get arrested.

Smith is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. She is being held in Washington County Jail with bail set at $50,000.
