Police said Clark shot Waite four times before stealing his cellphone, a Xbox video game system, two guns, an iPad and two surveillance cameras.
“Are materialistic things really that important to murder somebody? I'm just happy that the suspect was arrested,” Jenna McFetridge, a neighbor, said.
Investigators tracked the cellphone to Clark’s home, where they made the arrest.
According to a witness, Clark had gone to Waite’s home to buy marijuana.
Clark is charged with criminal homicide, robbery, burglary, criminal conspiracy, receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm with an altered manufacture number.
