Autism Speaks Walk Highly Attended

PITTSBURGH,None — One in every 110 children will be diagnosed with autism.

On Saturday, thousands took part in Pittsburgh's 'Walk Now For Autism Speaks.'

Families touched by autism were among the thousands who joined in the event.

The goal is to raise money for scientific research, advocacy efforts and family services.

The participants are trying to raise awareness of autism.

"My son Frankie was diagnosed almost 7 years ago, so we have been doing our best to do what we can to help the cause," said Sue Principe.

The event included a two to three mile walk as well as other family-oriented activities.
