AVONWORTH, Pa.,None — Avonworth High School seniors are believed to have damaged Ohio Township property, according to township officials.
2012 was spray painted on a retaining wall and signs. Officials said it will cost $75 to replace each sign.
Channel 11 drove through the area on Tuesday and saw signs that the township attempted to save by cleaning them.
The township is working with the school and wants students to know that this is a crime.
"We are working on a program, including our police department. We are going to have an assembly with the ninth through twelfth graders and urge them to refrain from doing this," said John Sullivan, Ohio Township manager.
If caught, the students could be reprimanded by the magistrate and have to pay restitution, according to Sullivan.
"It may seem like fun to the high school kids, and prior years have done it, but it's just getting annoying to us, and we want them to stop it," said Sullivan.
