Bishop Canevin High School: 'In the Heights'

Bishop Canevin High School will present the Tony award-winning musical IN THE HEIGHTS Thursday through Saturday, April 25, 26 and 27. Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for reserved floor seating and $7 for bleacher seats.

More than 70 students are involved in the production.  Students hail from Crafton, Scott Township, Carnegie, Peters Township, Bethel Park, Upper St. Clair, McMurray, South Park, Castle Shannon, McDonald, Bridgeville and more.

“In the Heights” (music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda; book by Quiara Alegria Hudes) opened on Broadway in 2008 and was nominated for 13 Tony awards, winning four including Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Choreography. The show follows the inhabitants of the colorful, vibrant Hispanic/Dominican community of New York City’s Washington Heights– a neighborhood on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be decided by which traditions you take with you and which you leave behind.
