BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. — Seven campers were destroyed by a fast-moving fire on a Butler County campground over the weekend.
The blaze happened at Moraine Campland on Saturday, officials said.
“I was half way across the park, and I could see the black smoke going up in the air,” said maintenance manager John Bluedom.
Bluedom said several volunteer firefighters were staying on the grounds and helped extinguish the flames.
“We have a lot of off-duty volunteers from Pittsburgh that were here. They just instantly started doing what they would do at home,” Bluedom said.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
