PITTSBURGH,None — Crews with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation are keeping a close eye on a section of Route 28 after boulders tumbled down a hillside near the 31st Street Bridge.
The boulders fell near the inbound lane late Sunday night in Troy Hill but never made it onto the road, PennDOT said.
PennDOT said it has no plans to close the road, saying the hillside appears stable. If PennDOT should change its minds, it would create an even more difficult detour for drivers, who are already down to one lane along Route 28.
So far, there are no reports of damaged cars or injured drivers.
