Brookline man dies after being shot in Crafton Heights

PITTSBURGH — A man who was shot on Aug. 31 in Pittsburgh’s Crafton Heights neighborhood has passed away, officials said.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office said 25-year-old Domanek Cabbagestalk, of Brookline, died Friday at Allegheny General Hospital.

Officers were called to the 1400 block of Steuben Street around 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 for a report of a man shot.

Police said they found Cabbagestalk on the front porch of a home, suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest and leg.

Pittsburgh police said that detectives with the violent crime unit were working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. They said it is believed that Cabbagestalk was shot during an altercation at Woodlow Street and Cherry Court before he fled to Steuben Street.

The cause and manner of death is pending an autopsy.
