Brush fire upgraded to working forest fire in Westmoreland County

ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A brush fire in St. Clair Township was upgraded to a working forest fire Sunday evening, according to officials.

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is flying an aircraft that can hold up to 800 gallons of retardant over the fire.

No buildings or homes are in danger, but the fire is near power lines.

Several counties’ first response crews are on scene.

Channel 11 is told that fire crews are getting the fire under control.

No injuries are reported at this time.
