Allegheny County Health Department closes Lefty’s bar in the Strip for Covid-related violations

PITTSBURGH — The Allegheny County Health Department ordered Lefty's, a bar located at 2021 Penn Ave. in the Strip District, to close this week due to reported Covid-19 health and safety violations.

According to the health department, Lefty’s had multiple Covid-related violations including allegedly being over capacity limits imposed for indoor facilities, failing to ensure proper social distancing measures and failure to require the purchase of a meal with alcoholic beverages, all current requirements as part of county and state-wide Covid-19 regulations. Additionally, the health department said people were gathering and not properly social distancing outside near the premise.
