FORD CITY, Pa. — Butler County Community College officials announced that the higher education institution has received a combined sum of $2.2 million in grants and pledges to fund the construction of its new 12,500-square-foot Ford City satellite campus in Armstrong County called BC3. The project, which will occupy the land that previously housed the Ford City Junior-Senior High School, is expected to cost $4.5 million.
Funding for the project comes from a combination of grants, pledges and private commitments, officials said, with most of the new funding coming from a $1.75 million state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant. Other sources of the funding included a $250,000 pledge from Armstrong County commissioners and an additional $220,000 in private commitments, among others.
