Duquesne Light names new CEO

PITTSBURGH — Kevin Walker has been promoted to president and CEO of Duquesne Light Co., DQE and Duquesne Light Holdings.

Walker will replace Mark Kaplan, the company’s interim CEO after the departure of Steve Malnight in January. Kaplan, who is also the CFO, will transition to special adviser to the company at the end of June, and Matthew Ankrum will be the CFO beginning July 1.

Walker, who joined Duquesne Light last April as COO, has three decades of experience. He has been SVP of customer and operations services at Southern California Edison and has also been a top operations executive at American Electric Power and Iberdrola. He’s also an U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
