PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas Judge Christine Ward has denied the emergency motion of Ace Hotel to keep the East Liberty hotel closed amid an ongoing dispute between the boutique hotelier and its local ownership.
Ward made the decision on Wednesday after initially ruling on May 27 that the hotel remain closed while the legal dispute progressed in court toward a decision. The decision did not include a detailed reasoning for why the emergency motion was denied.
With a favorable ruling for the former YMCA building’s local ownership now in hand, look for the property to soon make rooms available again for nightly stays not under the Ace Hotel flag but as an independent.
