Netflix founder donates $3 million to fund full-ride scholarships for students attending RMU

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Robert Morris University announced that Reed Hastings, founder and co-CEO of Netflix Inc., has donated $3 million to fund 20 full-ride RMU Next Century Scholarships for select students who will begin classes in the fall of 2021.

The scholarships will be open to applicants from underrepresented groups and to those who “demonstrate a commitment to empowering members of underrepresented groups,” RMU said. Recipients will then be able to choose from several degree programs including; computer and information systems; computer science; cybersecurity; data analytics; actuarial science; mathematics; statistics and predictive analytics; and user experiences, user interface design.
