Oakland landmark Webster Hall goes up for sale

PITTSBURGH — Webster Hall, a granite-made hulk of a building that’s been looming over the heart of Oakland for nearly 100 years, is up for sale, offering a rare opportunity for a new buyer of a property that hasn’t traded in at least a generation.

Laura Lawrence, a senior vice president in the Pittsburgh office of CBRE representing the property for sale, declined to comment.

But marketing materials issued by the real estate firm for Webster Hall refer to it as an “historic property” that “presents investors with a unique opportunity to redevelop an irreplaceable architectural icon as a vibrant mixed-use development on Fifth Avenue in the center of Oakland.”
