OAKMONT, Pa. — Oakmont Country Club, famed home to nine U.S. Open tournaments with a 10th scheduled for 2025, was named to the No. 5 spot on a recently published biennial list of America’s top golf courses.
The 118-year-old course, designed by Henry Fownes, remained ranked fifth by Golf Digest. It has been ranked on the Golf Digest list since its inception in 1966.
The 2021 list of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses also includes No. 33 Pikewood National Golf Club in Morgantown, West Virginia, and No. 87 Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
