One of Pittsburgh’s best known brands partners to preserve legacy of Black-owned restaurants

PITTSBURGH — Kraft Heinz Co. is partnering with nonprofit restaurant equality organization The LEE Initiative and Southern Restaurants for Racial Justice to preserve the legacy of Black-owned restaurants nationally through a grant program and other resources.

Starting Monday through May 8, restaurant owners can apply here for a grant. Applications will be reviewed by SRRJ founders and a selection committee and will be evaluated on factors including a restaurant’s community involvement and plans for the grant money.

Kraft Heinz (NASDAQ:KHC) was created through the combination of Pittsburgh-based H.J. Heinz Co. and Chicago-based Kraft Foods and is jointly based in both cities.
