PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Mayor William Peduto announced the appointment of Douglas Anderson to serve as the city's director of the Department of Finance and as city treasurer. The appointment now goes before city council where it will vote to approve of Anderson's new role later this month.
Anderson, a Shadyside resident, previously served as the city's deputy controller and will replace Margaret Lanier, who retired this summer after 38 years of working with the city's government.
“Douglas Anderson brings vast experience in finance and government to our administration, and provides a steady hand in a time of great economic uncertainty,” Peduto said in a press release. “I am very happy he is joining us.”
