Sources: Apple may take space in PAA building as Pitt evaluates plans

PITTSBURGH — The University of Pittsburgh’s announced agreement to take 30,000 square feet in Walnut Capital Partner’s renovation of the Pittsburgh Athletic Association building in Oakland may not come to be.

Instead, the Pitt-affiliated Learning Research and Development Center will not move into the historic building, as sources indicate that Walnut Capital is working on a new deal for tech giant Apple Inc. to take the building’s available office space.
