Target works to design new downtown store with an eye on the Kaufmann’s clock

Pittsburgh — Target Corp.’s design team presented their plans for their new store in the Kaufmann’s Grand at Fifth to the Pittsburgh Planning Commission with as strong awareness of how their own retail iconography will be setting up in a building with well over 100 years of department store history.

“It was all something that we immersed ourselves in,” he said of the clock and the building’s history. “The clock element there that you can see caught our eye from the base of the clock as a floral motif.”
