University of Pittsburgh to offer voluntary retirement program to faculty, staff to reduce costs

PITTSBURGH — The University of Pittsburgh will offer a voluntary incentive retirement program for faculty and staff members as part of its plan to reduce costs amid the pandemic.

According to the university, faculty employees who are 65-years-old or older and who have at least 10 years of service will be eligible to participate in the Faculty Retirement Incentive program. This program includes a one-time financial incentive as well as access to Pitt’s standard retirement benefits package, which includes health care and education benefits for spouses, domestic partners or dependents. The program is being offered to those at Pitt’s main Oakland campus and its regional campuses.
