Zoom puts search for Pittsburgh office space on hold

PITTSBURGH — Zoom Video Communications (NASDAQ: ZM), which announced in May its plans to open a research and development center in Pittsburgh, is hitting the pause button on committing to a local office in town.

“Our search for physical office space is on hold for the time being until we confirm when our employees will be returning to the office,” Colleen Rodriguez, global public relations lead at Zoom, said.

Rodriguez said Zoom told its employees they would continue working remotely until summer or fall 2021.

Zoom is still hiring in Pittsburgh, Rodriguez said. She declined to disclose the number of employees the company hired in Pittsburgh or Phoenix, where it also expanded operations to in May.
