Butler Teacher Charged In Sending Sexually Charged Emails To Student

BUTLER, Pa.,None — The community of Butler was reacting Wednesday night to allegations made against a junior high school teacher.

The teacher, Ronald Zowrotuk, Jr., was suspended, accused of sending e-mails with his school computer, sexually propositioning a 13-year-old girl.

"That's completely out of line. That shouldn't even come into question, the age. Plus, too, it's your student," said Charlie Lowe, a parent in the school district.

Lowe has a daughter who previously attended Butler Junior High School.

Police said the messages were sent during the 2007-2008 school year.

In one, Zowrotuk allegedly said, "You're hot and you know it."

According to police, another e-mail said, "I'll call myself the lucky guy when I get lucky with you after you graduate.

The criminal complaint also said Zowrotuk asked her about her breasts.

Charlie Lowe has a daughter who previously graduated from butler junior high school -- and his shock and frustration echoes through this community.

Police say the 38-year-old teacher admitted to everything, and told officers the emails were inappropriate, unintelligent and showed a lack of judgment.

Zowrotuk was charged with corruption of minors.
