“Every year, our goal is the WPIAL Championship,” said Vikings senior Braxton Swann.
With the goal of bringing Central Catholic another championship already intact for 2015, the Vikings also had another goal in mind: Redemption.
“Last year was a hard fought game. It was a grind. It was hard to lose a game like that,” said senior receiver Jake McKee.
Two weeks ago, the Vikings took on Pine-Richland once again. This time, it wasn’t at the neutral confines of Heinz Field. It was on the road, in a hostile Pine-Richland environment.
Central Catholic would pull out a 35-28 win that Friday in the rematch.
After nine weeks of play, the Vikings finished the regular season with an 8-1 record. Their only loss came in Week 3 against North Allegheny.
Now, Central Catholic faces Upper St. Clair in the opening round of the playoffs, looking to make their way back to Heinz Field for another shot at the Quad A Championship.
