Child Found Wandering Along Route 908 In Fawn Township

FAWN TWP., Pa.,None — A grandmother in Fawn Township was charged after a toddler was found wandering along Route 908.

Rege Drahos said he was driving on Route 908 on April 27th, when he first noticed a dog, then a 17-month old little boy on the road.

"As I was going by like this I was trying not to hit the dog, and I saw a baby right beside it, so I hurried up, moved in the lane, jumped out and grabbed the baby," said Drahos.

The boy was wearing a diaper and no shoes. Drahos held him until the police got there.

Drahos added, "He looked like he was scared but he never uttered a sound or cried or did anything."

The police chief said the grandmother, Michele Rea, faced charges of child endangerment and recklessly endangering another person.

She told police she fell asleep and then the toddler got out the back door. He was found about 100 yards away from the house.

The child was not hurt.
