NEWARK, NJ — Some parts of New Jersey were inundated with heavy rain Tuesday, which has caused severe flooding.

At least two inches of rain fell in different parts of the state, including Newark.

Large vehicles were able to soldier on through the floodwaters, but smaller, compact cars were not so fortunate.

Multiple people had to be rescued, including some who were seen riding a skip loader in Fairview.
