CALIFORNIA, Pa.,None — A cyber school student will not be allowed to wear a cap and gown at his high school graduation at California Area High School.
Phillip Langley will be allowed to walk with his graduating class, but will not be permitted to wear the school's colors.
A board meeting was held Monday night, and the board did not reconsider the decision to ban the cyber school student from wearing the cap and gown to the June 12th graduation ceremony.
"It would just be a lot more meaningful if I graduate with my friends and that I have a cap and gown as everybody else," said Langley.
The superintendent told Channel 11 that the district cannot make an exception for Langley, because he is four credits shy of the district's graduation requirements.
