DURANT, Ok. — A daycare in Oklahoma is under investigation after a former employee told authorities they were giving Benadryl to children to help them go to sleep.
Parents noticed that their children were drowsy after coming home from Sue's Daycare, so when the sheriff's office announced an investigation into owner Beverly Sue Stair, they were furious.

Jeff Wilson, of the Bryan County Sheriff's Office, said, "We've been investigating Sue's Daycare here in Durant, Oklahoma, for alleged child abuse charges for giving children Benadryl to assist them to go to sleep at time...[former employees] have come and confessed to what was going on in the daycare and all stated that they were ordered to give this by the owner."
Investigators are recommending that charges be filed as more former employees come forward. So far, seven victims have been identified.
Benadryl should not be given to infants unless ordered by a doctor.
The drug can cause small children to stop breathing. None of the children are thought to have sustained serious injury.
The owner of the daycare has not commented on the allegations. The center can't open until officials complete their investigation.
