EVANS CITY, Pa.,None — An Evans City man said he started a social media campaign in an effort to save a chapel featured in "The Night of the Living Dead."
Gary Streiner said he has taken on the task of saving one of the last pieces of history left from the movie, which was featured in the 1969 classic thriller.
"It's not just me, it's the fans. People from all over this country want to see the chapel restored," said Streiner.
Streiner said he reached out on Facebook for donations and has already received $5,000 toward his quest to $50,000.
The chapel sits on the Evans City Cemetery's property. The cemetery's board of directors gave Steiner one year to raise the money. If it is not raised within the year, officials said they will tear the chapel down.
