Fallen Tree Slams Into Popular Camp Horne Road Tavern

KILBUCK TOWNSHIP, Pa.,None — A tree caused problems at a popular Kilbuck Township restaurant on Sunday.

The incident happened at Sunny Jim's Tavern along Camp Horne Road.

Authorities said the tree slid about 200 feet down a hillside before it crashed through a wall at the establishment.

"Got out of the car and heard a big crack up in the hillside," said employee Matthew Alexander. "My boys and I turned and looked and we seen like branches fall off the tree. Then, the tree snapped in half. It looked like it was going to head right towards the bar. And soon as it hit the concrete, it jumped and went right into the side of the building."

It took workers about three hours to cut the tree up and remove it. Business was not affected.

No injuries were reported.
